Several people have posted about the clown sightings, which were allegedly concentrated in southwest Oklahoma City. But at least one of the photos on Facebook is a fake, showing up on a google search as a clown found in California.
People have posted about seeing a clown near SW 59th and Western. Another photo shows a clown in a park. Other posts say the clown was near U.S. Grant High School.
Clown sightings have been reported in states across the country, with at least one school district shutting its doors last week because of "killer clown" threats.
The phenomenon started in early September, when kids at a South Carolina apartment complex said they were being terrorized by someone in a clown costume.
Residents in Oklahoma City have posted repeatedly since Friday about "clown hunting" in southwest Oklahoma City.
KOCO has reached out to Oklahoma City police about the alleged clown sightings, but police say they have not investigated any reports of clown sightings in Oklahoma City.
